A spokesperson said, “The public will recall that last June representatives from the Azorean Government visited Bermuda to meet with government officials as well as members of the Island’s Azorean community.”

While you are across the pond, Premier Dunkley, can you also divert to Graciosa island and see how they are converting to 100% renewable energy!!! It is an opportunity not to be missed. If you need a tour, I can arrange one for you!!!

The new, hybrid power system they are installing on Graciosa can immediately use until 100 percent sun and wind power. The Diesel generators will only be needed for back-up in weeks with very poor weather conditions. This means they can cover an annual average of up to 65 percent of the island’s power demand with renewables.

Mr. Dunkley – Pay attention to the beautiful, clean and tidy roadsides and parks in the Azores. Very different to Bermuda’s roadsides and parks that are overgrown and hardly maintained. Need to bring back the Portuguese workers on limited basis to teach others how to keep them maintained.

Bermuda and the Azores have many Ancestry,Financial, Cultural,Religious,Racial ,and Political ties with Bermuda.The black slave trade with Africa and Portugal ties them inextricably with Black Bermudians.Portuguese Bermudians and African Bermudians commonly called Black Bermudians have lived and worked peaceably together for centuries.More so than any other European immigrants since the country was discovered ,the island until today,has links with Portugal,or what is commonly now the Azores today .I pray that the Portuguese ancestry and the African Ancestors now live together as equal partners and not as Slave Masters and Slaves as some of them would perceive,or indeed,want it to be.Peace.
