No doubt there will have to be increased levels of security, whether on not this is considered an isolated incident. This was not a case of a visitor being beaten and robbed, but it may have spilled out into public areas, so a lot has to be thought about. This took less than 4 minutes. There needs to be a higher presence of police officers throughout the Island. I agree with many who read my last statement, that a murder and stabbing took place in spite of more police officers on duty this past week-end, but I do feel that more police officers manning check points will reduce the tendency to commit crime, we can see the lack of respect for law and order in our publi c city parks and city streets with folks drinking alcohol, loud music, …and yes there are the un-employed and ho meless who gather in the city, so I am not gonna suggest that everyone in a public park is up to mischief. I hope the young man makes it, and that his employers will use utmost discretion going forward.

Employers are not responsible for hiring thugs, Employers are responsible for hiring men and women who show good work ethic and can A) pass a drug test and B) not have a police record a mile long. So many of these social ills are brought on by kids having kids and not being able to take of themselves let alone a child. Stop blaming employers for not being willing to risk their business and the lively hood of all their other employees for people that just don’t and won’t act responsibly. Is that not the parents job????????

Many of you don’t understand why the laws/punishments don’t work on certain people.

I all boils down to having something worth not losing.

If the person you want the punishment to work on dose not have something they fell is worth keeping no punishment you can think of will work on them.

I will give you a personal example.

when I was gainfully employed making good money and could see a clear path to “make it in life” my thoughts on how the handled different events were comply different to what they are now.

example if someone did me wrong I was not quick to acting in retaliation without thinking about how it would affect the clear path I saw to “make it in life”.

with that said a lot of people would be spared my retaliation.
in my mind I calculated the retaliation was not worth the chance of losing what I have.

however now that I not been fully employed for 2 years my clear path has been burred. all efforts get it path back are slowly slipping away.

Because of this I think differently now no one will be spared my retaliation and I even hope to get the chance to retaliate so that I can take out my frustrations of life on someone.

this is why punishment don’t work on some people in some cases even their life they feel is not worth anything so death as a punishment will not work as a deterrent.
