Please think before you write!!!!He knocked the officer over, the officer may have been a motorcycle cop by himself!!! If there was an additional officer IMO his first priority should be to his fallen colleague. But you or I wouldn’t know that. If he jumped out and ran,and you are familiar with the area, there are several places he conceal himself or get out of the area and ESCAPE!!! Think about it, its not a joke.

The driver behaved in such a way to suggest to others he had something to answer for, whether it be traffic, civil, or criminal. He made matters worse by driving at the officer hitting him, reversing down a one way street and damaging property. He would have been arrested on one fact alone hitting the officer. He is likely to be in and out of court for a few years to he sorts himself out, his behaviour will affect how and where he will be over the next few years.

In a case like this, the police know the identity of the person, I’m sure. If he hasn’t been arrested before and doesn’t have a mugshot, they would still have a photo of him from the TCD system, I’m sure. Instead of releasing a vague description that could fit a million and one people-especially the items of clothing like he’s still going to be walking around in them (yeah, I know they release that in case someone spotted him at the time but still)-why don’t the police here do what the police do overseas and plaster the person’s face up and say this person is wanted by police for questioning? The police always say they want the public’s help but then give such vague information.

If you release a person’s identity, their neighbour, former teacher, doctor, boss, whoever could see it in and turn them in. It doesn’t take anyway from the person’s rights and they’re still innocent until proven guilty but enough of this vague description stuff. If we the public are supposed to do our job, give us something to work with here like they do in every other jurisdiction in the world-including the U.K. whose system ours is supposed to be based on. They have no qualms about releasing CCTV footage or names of people they’re looking for-why can’t we???

The car will be impounded by the police, owner contacted to determine wheth er or not the car was stolen. At this point the driver might as well give himself up. He escaped for only a short while, after running an officer down, he will face the wrath of the Court. It will be crazy for the lady to say she did not know the driver, and face some charges herself.
