one thing I notice as a bad flaw in Bermuda is not one continues to innovate.

example you get a good idea and you run with it but you don’t improve on it you just keep milking the same idea until if die.

and lack of maintains planning budgeting.

there was a guy doing innovative farming up summerset was making good money but he did not continue to innovate and so the ever rising light bill started to cut into his pocket hard.

if he continue to innovate he would have saw the rising light bill coming and adapted new technologies to counter the light bill.

I don’t know if he is still up and running but I think he started with tomatoes.

This is one of the reasons why we are so expensive. Greed and self entitlement. Those basics cost money and and we do not have the population to give hand outs to wall sitters, just politicians. Get your priorities straight.

There is a fix but it boils down to do you want to fix it. when “benefits” one wont “benefit” the other.

in order to fix it you need to lay everything out on a table like a war game. Then you must brain storm what to tackle first. then lay out the cost of the proposed solutions and what is affected good or bad.
some time when you fix something you break something else and some time you fix something and you fix something else at the same time. that stuff needs to be figured out in the brain storming.

here are some of the pieces

food
energy
housing,
shipping, greed(never end profit margins)
Jobs
education

I would tackle food first then energy then house. each of these can affect jobs and money distribution and also they are also currently affected be shipping.

We could trying to fix one of them with a solution the factors out shipping. very doable with technology.

There are already plans on the table to try and fix shipping cost.
Or at less there was.

If it’s the most expensive, it certainly does not transcend to struggling Bermudians who can’t afford to live in “The Most Expensive Place in the World” Which is our right to have the most basic needs met, like shelter, food,medical benefits. Go figure !!

This comes as no surprise.Bermuda has always been expensive.There is no quick fix to the Island’s problems.When a small island such as this cannot get a grip on how to govern itself after all these years,it is obvious that the ones in power do not have the lives of bermudians at heart.Money and power in the wrong hands corrupts.No governing body should be so greedy and corrupt.The now and the future should be on the minds of all bermudians.Independance.Yes?Bermuda for bermudians?What will work?I believe that total inclusion is the only way for this and any other nation to fulfill their dreams..Beware bermuda of what you show the world.

Let’s get real here , no BS about ‘ oh well , everything has to be imported’

The people who can do something about the costs here have been too busy lining their pockets for a very long time to worry about the subject and will only come out with ‘beyond their control’ excuses.
