Not a one stop shop solution. Fintech would be an alright addition, but I don’t see it as going to be a major player to our IB services. The vast majority of these services are virtual, so staffing would be minimal for any company operating here, most of the companies would be addressed here with staffing outsourced to lower wage juristictions. Our bandwidth services are also lacking. To truly supply global financial access demand, the amount of bandwidth to run out of this island would need to be greatly increased. Current conditions are already lagging behind most other juristiction, it’s almost criminal the limited bandwidth that is offered both residentially and commercially for what should be a major business center. I am not against this, I am for it, but it will not provide the quantity of jobs we see in the other IB careers in reinsurance and sub services.
We must also remember that it was but one suggestion by the PLP, others being a multi million dollar fishing industry (something debunked by PLP commissioned studies), sea bed mining (something debunked by geological analysis and current market conditions leading to low ROI viability)…

This is hilarious, as if all these FinTech companies are going to set up shop in Bermuda because the PLP wants them to. There are plenty of lower cost jurisdictions with better talent pools.
