Where does it say anyone from Bermuda commissioned, paid for (in part or in full) the statue. I assumed that the people of the town had it done.

I tried to zoom in on the plate on the bottom of the statue to see but it was to blurry. So unless you have proof to show otherwise, stop your misleading politricks.

I wonder if there will be a statute of St. Brendan, he came before Somers, 1000years at least before! Oh, but yes, in our haste to change the name from St. Brendan to Maiw because of “stigma” I guess no one really cares who REALLLY came first!HARUMP!

This has inspired me to have a statute Commodore JB commissioned for BBIRYC. If they can have a statute of a not so great yachtsman like Sir George, who ship wrecked in a storm, made then we need one for the greatest yachtsman, Commodore JB of BBIRYC, to honour his legacy. Commodore JB sailed solo around the world at the tender age of 13 years old. He invented modern day yachting. He navigates by licking his finger and sticking it in the air to see which direction the wind is coming from.
