Actually what's probably the cause for this uptick in younger visitors is something quite different than what is being reported by the BTA.

In the US many young people are living with their parents for longer and I think they are simply being included in their parents' travel plans.

These numbers may just be a reflection of these new living arrangements.......

I work in the industry and have noticed that many young adults are traveling with their parents. I see multiple generations all the time.

You should see it, the parents take out their wallets and these grown men and women step back and let them pay for them.

Congratulations BTA, I guess, but have you all even noticed this new multi-generational travel trend?

This is BTA spin, look at other age brackets and compare 2014 - 2016 not just the under 45. BTA cherry picks what they want to compare. Ask BTA not to count the hundred or so free trips they "facilitated" of which most went to the under 45 age group and see what the numbers are. How many in the picture do you think can afford Bermuda now or within next 5 years? The 55 and older group still show the most consistent increase, they are the most likely to be repeat visitors too!

A huge congratulations to the BTA for all their hard work on this. It's amazing what can be achieved once you put the right people into place, with a long term vision, that isn't subject to the views of whatever politician happens to be the minister that particular month.

Given these sorts of results I hope that certain sources of "online commentary" who have made some brutally negative comments about the staff at the BTA over the years are enjoying their crow. A 23.7% jump in air arrivals for the 25-34 demographic is simply amazing.

Now I wonder if we can apply this example to other areas that require a real solid long term plan. Areas where government (under both parties) has a sustained track record of failure going back decades. A failure that has resulted in many of our young adults being unqualified to compete in today's world. Just a thought.
