These boats have plans for a year in advance and the simple fact is that they go to the Caribbean for the winter and the med for the summer. Bermuda is not en route. The real big boats don’t want to be at a marina anyway due to security issues. They prefer to be at anchor. They will be busy for the Americas Cup and that will be that. Bermuda is way out of the way for anyone to stop by here. Most boats that come here are sailboats, usually retired people going around the world as cheaply as possible. The big boats have deadlines like getting to Monaco for the Formula 1 grand prix and being in Antigua for race week in April. The only way to get big sailboats here is to have a charismatic yacht race like the St. Barts bucket race or the Antigua super yacht race. They won’t come here because somebody pours some readymix concrete.
