Yes, get rid of those unsightly buildings. If they want to keep them and house the poor, perhaps some church can donate some land in Bermuda where they can relocate them rather than knock them down.

If they can be recycled and reused somewhere else to help these families, then by all means, it should be done. However, it should not be the BLDC who has to foot the bill!

It is obvious we have a need in Bermuda for housing for the poor, but this was a pristine beach area used by all Bermudians and then it was closed off for unsightly, an un-Bermudian style development, now left to fall apart. Is there any wonder the poor people moved in?

Your point is?? I ended up a single mother through divorce, although I was married when I has my kids. My sister is a single mother because her husband died. Being married when you have your children is no guarantee that you won’t end up a single parent. Life happens.

I am going to take a lot of grief for this comment,but… children count 100% in my books, which is why women should stop having children before they have a plan as to where their life is heading, the children suffer! We are such a holy lot in Bermuda isn’t there something about marriage and children in the Bible? Guess that’s not in the one we read in Bermuda.

Although 9 beaches has been a total failure busineswise the remarkable thing is the the durability of those tent cottages. Really thought that they would end up on Cambridge’s beach in the very first blow after building them.

Surprise surprise many storms over.

So, what happens to the property now? It is prime land for tourism development however that stinking cow farm has to go first.

To all of you heartless and inconsiderate people making crass comments, have you thought about the INNOCENT in this episode?…..the CHILDREN!!

The old song about affordable housing is a farce when you consider so many are living under the poverty line.Please don’t feed us that line about “if they got educated they can get better paying jobs to afford better housing”, because MANY of us (and yes, I am using race this time) get educated and end up having to wait tables or make beds with a Masters Degree.

Poor management and accounting took place to allow this to happen and now we will once again see increased displacement of families and once again Weasel is at the forefront of yet another failure and sell out of his people!

Wow. This is sad. And what court official gave them an eviction notice for December 2016? That person is heartless. Well done to BLDC for being human. Hopefully this turns out ok on the date of actual eviction.

Why does anyone even bother to pay rent when you can get away without doing so? You can even get free lacko light too! I’m sure there will be a protest in early January and people will be allowed to stay permanently just like that place on the Baselands.

I guess dishonesty pays.

The principals of IRC need to be reprimanded for collecting rents that should have never been collected without the consent of BLDC!!
