It's great that some of the officers who actually do the work have finally been offered training. It shouldn't take the Americas Cup to encourage senior management of Customs to arrange this. It is still amazing that the senior management of Customs is effectively unknown. They never appear before the camera except in a scripted interview and have never spoken about their strategy for protecting our borders. What is their plan to stop guns, drugs and ammunition from entering Bermuda? Or is it just easier to penalize the normal, law abiding citizen who accidentally undervalues their purchaces overseas???? What are the qualifications of the top 3 officers of Customs starting with the Collector and then the ACOC. Kudos to the hard working, incorruptible, hard working Customs officers!
