Have Some Backbone, if you have one iota of one answer these 2 simple questions. 1: How did the PLP pay for the civil service wages in Jan. of 1999 and 2: How did the OBA pay the same wage bill in Jan. of 2013. Surely the answer to these simple questions would preclude anyone ever voting for the PLP. It would be interesting to see how you spin your answer if at all. A lot cheaper than the Banquets put on by the likes of the BIU; PLP and BPSU. At $100 a head no one complains, yet in the pictures there are very few average working Bermudians. Just the usual privileged elite.

Michael Dunkley and The Gibbons Family together probably employ more Bermudians than all the PLP MPs.

If have some backbone would take off their down trodden and persecuted blinkers they would see the benefits of AC like the Endeavour Program – a classroom using the sea and giving untold opportunities to the less privileged the grounding in STEAM.

Maybe you are the person I saw several years ago at the tennis stadium. A very young girl, maybe 8, picked a racket and wanted to ht some balls. Suddenly a male, I’ll take it her father, shouted at her to put it down. She was so upset. Very sad.

The event looks great’ a lot of sacrifice and social programs cut in order to host this event and making it work – I pray we get the 350 million dollars yield that It was projected to make – for the sake of Bermuda I hope it’s successful Financially.

I’ve heard this said a lot, this idea that it’s the “3rd largest sporting event in the world”. This is utter nonsense. Now, I’m a supporter of the AC, think it’s the best thing to happen to our island in a long, long time, but we can’t start lying about it’s global influence. There’s at least 25 sporting events which dwarf the AC in scale, including all 4 Golf majors, all 4 Tennis majors, Ryder Cup, Cricket World Cup, Indian Premier League Cricket, Rugby World Cup, Superbowl, F1 Grand Prix, Grand National, Kentucky Derby, Commonwealth Games, European Athletics Championships, Olympics. Notice I haven’t started in on Football, which would add another 7-8 competitions to this list. The Guardian newspaper published a supplement in, I think it was 2006 before that World Cup, of the biggest sporting events in the world. AC was not mentioned once.

I sat and listened to a PLP supporter, who was watching the AC and saying how wonderful it was, claim that if Bermuda hosts the event a second time it will be better and more Bermudians will benefit. He was basically assuming that the PLP will win the election and go right ahead and start negotiating with the AC people as soon as that happens.

This was a highly educated person.

He didn’t stop and think that the AC won’t want to negotiate with the PLP who are trying to disrupt the event even after assurances given after the Chris Furbert threat.

The AC guys don’t have the convenient memory of the PLP, they base decisions on facts and action.

Many PLP supporters seem extremely confused at the moment.

As an investment the AC is far better than the mistakes of Global Hue, Faith Based Tourism and of course Grand Atlantic. When there is more money coming into Bermuda, there will be more money for education/seniors etc. One has to spend money to make money. The exposure is priceless
