We had a third party called the BDA…..the UBP took control because black Bermudians no longer trusted the UBP. So they changed the name and now the same yuck that’s was in UBP has took over the Ubp/OBA. The BDA needs to break away from the OBA after they lose the election.

It is a stretch to assume that ” Independent members of Parliament will put Bermuda first” since the reality is that they are no different from anyone else who decides to get involved in politics. If any independent is to be given the chance it should be only after they have demonstrated that they will put Bermuda first, perhaps by their individual community work or some other measure. Additionally they should be given ample time to build up a following so that they have a realistic chance of success. to suggest that people should just vote for someone just because they are running as an independent seems rather naive to me.

This is all well and good in theory. But independents all have their own allegiances, and once elected will align with whichever party they historically gravitate to. So coalitions and alliances will be formed regardless. Ms. Packwood knows this. She is no novice to politics.
