My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. First they striped our ancestors of their names so they do not know who they are. And to this day we do not know who we are as a people and this is global. Not only is it global but it has been detrimental to us as a people.

Today we are walking around with the names of our ancestors which was given to them by the slave masters. Then the descendants of the slave masters label our males with dehumanizing labels (thugs/gangs) and we accept the labels. These are perfect examples of psychological warfare.

Until we free ourselves from mental slavery we will continue to be lost as a people.

Think what you will. I watched the gangs start there. I remember guys that was best friends than became enimies as soon as the school started. Their solution was expel anyone that fought( before you got a detention or suspension). They added gas to the fire

You can’t be serious and think that gang crime is 100% related to the mega school. That is ridiculous. I know that th e mega school and loss of trade school have not helped anything and perhaps made the problem worse, but it is not the sole issue here. Too high cost of living, absentee fathers and mothers, and sexual abuse are way more contributing factors to these social ills than any school related issue.

You are right about that. Gangs started in cedar bridge. The ubp was warned about the mega school but didn’t listen. I was one of the second classes to graduate and saw it come together myself

My personal opinion on this matter is put a island wide curfew in place until the island gets together and solves the issues. The more people moving around the island seems that someone is getting hurt or loosing life via violence or road fatality. What is the time laps on these incidences? after 5pm in most cases. If people stay home with loved ones or someone they need or want to be with it would save life’s until the matter is solved. You have to stay somewhere.

For the curfew I think it should run for 6 hours during the party and social night life Time, 11pm to 5am. A high police presence on the road to ensure the curfew is in place by residence and visitors alike.

Anyone who works in a service business such as hospital police public transport hospitality ect such as I do that get off work in the late wee hours should have an exemption long as you have your is and punch card of some sort so when and if you do get pulled over during curfew you have a valid reason.

Some businesses will loose money and some workers will aswel. But the ultimate goal is to save lives. Just because you have not felt the effects of a family member or loved one loosing there life to violence or a road fatality doesn’t mean you have to wait to it does happen to you and your family. It’s like insurance you buy it in case s**t happens. Don’t wait to the last minute Bermuda.

Anyone who breaks curfew and doesn’t have a legitimate reason to why they are out past curfew should either be giving a warning and escorted to there house or put in prison. Those who want to break this curfew obviously doesn’t have respect for the law, there family, there loved ones such as friends, there community “neighbor and neighborhood” and ultimately self respect. We all need to abide by the laws that are in place to protect oneself and others.

If anyone has any objections to my opinion to help Bermuda, feel free to express yourself and give me and the island of Bermuda a better option. We shouldn’t be loosing anyone to unnatural or accidental deaths. The current Bermuda we live in is unnatural. Reading the media updated on unnecessary Deaths is unnatural.

First of all this has nothing to do with politics…all you people do is throw blame..but if you would like to know how it started ask UBP/OBA…if they would have left the school system the way it was we would not be having this problem…so stop the bullcrap..instead of blaming parties why don’t we as a country put aside our differences stand together and help find a solution to help these young men..
It could have been any of you peoples child/ren..

What I loved about the UBP/OBA is that they eventually left the policing of Bermuda to the police … And the governor of course …

If in doubt , consider the pepper spraying of innocent law abiding older citizens , you will agree , nothing to do with the UBP/OBA

I’m not being sarcastic or silly but I’m sure some will say I am but whatever. Leading up to the election everybody blamed mr,baron for not doing enough including the opposition at the time, now the govt. So what is the current govt plan? Also if I remember correct the first time the PLP became govt I think there approach was also what Mr canines is trying now by not prosecuting but rehabilitating, that didn’t work either. We need stiffer sentencing to try and deter them.
