So it sounds as if the developer has backed out and the government will be doing something instead.

Just like a some people that were looking to buy homes before the election and are no longer interested in owning real estate here?

And regarding cost of tearing down? Probably a lot cheaper than what they would have lost had they continued with the (bad) investment.

I could be wrong though.
