Odd that you fail to mention Mr Baron’s Master’s Degree in Criminology and his work at Harvard University’s John F Kennedy School of Government. I guess it would have made your point easier if his resume had been how you described it. But then again getting to the whole truth is almost impossible when it comes to the PLP.

Odd as well that you didn’t notice the catcalls every time Cannonier made a speech, with people continually asking “who wrote that”.

Well suddenly everyone is perfectly fine with the Premier not writing his own speeches. Good to know. Yet whenever Cannonier made a speech you were sarcastic and scathing, implying he couldn’t string a sentence together without the help of a speech writer.
Yet again, a double standard when it comes to the PLP.

Wayne Caines: BA history/Political Science, LLB honors Sandhurst Military Royal Queen’s Commissioner, worked Lawyer, Officer in Royal Bermuda Regiment, Senator Chief of Staff to Premier, CEO of Digicel, Head of Seniac Consulting (telecoms company)
sought after speaker around the world for the last 10 years probably has over 50 local speaking engagements locally yearlyand in his own country someone would say, who wrote that….. speaks to the a sad story in Bermuda, why, because Senator Baron was never questioned as to who wrote his speeches?

I have never commented in this forum before but feel compelled to do so in response to the continued denigration of the abilities of the black male in particular and the black population in general. Why did you not ask who wrote Jeff Baron’s speeches when he was in the same position? You are obviously not well versed enough in political and governmental affairs to know that there are people whose job is to provide information, speaking points, and details for ministers when they are speaking at these kinds of events. And – believe or not – he could have written the speech himself! But then again, how could this little black boy have the education, oratatorial skills and the knowledge to make such a great speech! When will you accept that we are capable of anything you are capable of?

All Ministers have technical officers,Permanent Secretaries as well as the Department of Communications to assist with documents and speaking opportunites. This ensures the best representation for our island. Also after on 2 and a half months on the job the learning curve would be very steep. If you at all understood how the real world worked you would understand it is common practice in all countries for political leaders to have others write or prepare critical documents.

As a matter of fact you would be hard pressed to find one juristiction that does not rely on professional assistance when it comes to writing major documents and specifically speeches.

Nerma, get a life it is clear you are drinking from a half empty cup of bitters.

It should be noted as a former lawyer and Former CEO of a telcom, preparing documents and speaking should not be a major challenge for the Minister but collaboration works best from Bermuda.
