It is illegal to record someone without their permission, even more illegal if they are naked or in a compromised situation or posisition. It is even more illegal to spread such a recording. Anyone who is posessing or circulating or watching this video should be ashamed of themselves and should be prosecuted and jailed. This island is full of certain types of people who spread such videos of people, as if it is a form of entertainment. This sick crime needs to end, and too many Bermudians take part in it. Who are the weirdos who record these things in the first place? Some degenerates? How and why does it get sent to the first person? From one degenerate to another.

Positve Pessimist, I agree. Let’s not make an already police state into an absolute police state. If there are those that want it to be against the law then speak to your area MP with a view of changing the law. Otherwise the police should just deal with the situation. That doesn’t count. It’s not like someone is taking photos of people and publishing them in a magazine. If someone took a still of the man, put it on a poster and stuck it up om a wall in the middle of town, then it would fall under this Act. Sharing a video doesn’t. If that’s the case, half the population would be in prison for what they look at on their computers and phones every day. There’s no law against looking at that stuff or even sharing it-unless children are involved.

It’s not illegal unless the videos involve minors. They are just counting on people being decent enough to share the videos-but that won’t happen. There’s another one going around of a poor woman in a supermarket. People are stressed-life is hard and sometimes people just can’t take it. Instead of laughing, we need to have empathy and sympathy for our fellow human beings. We don’t know what it would take for our minds to snap-we can’t assume that the same thing can never happen to any of us, no matter how mentally strong we think we are.

I think that the sharing of videos when someone is at a low point in their lives is tacky and immoral it is a shame that people even need to be asked to respect others. This is a huge problem there does not need to be legislation to force good judgement or plain old fashioned decency.
