I did my time in the regiment and always looked at it as giving back to my country. The anti-conscription people over-emphasize the “military” and “gun” aspects but none of the useful service aspects of the regiment.
Didn’t do me any harm, and I am not a gun lover at all. I just did my time and can proudly say i gave of my time for my country- too bad there are those who would rather not do anything without being overpaid for it.
Will our present government officials help clear up Bermuda post Hurricane themselves when we no longer have people held by duty to do it?
