Hell no to free transport for tourist
We are suppose to get money from them it’s bad enough we gave them the free ferry from Dockyard to St George which take money away from transportation workers

Make the Public Transport free for all. Charge extra for TCD fees and a bit extra for landing/entrance fees for Tourists.
Would be great advertising by the Bda Tourism (FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT)

The Government would have to get the mechanics to work on night shifts to keep it going.

That idea was not thought out. It sound like you don’t even use the bus.
What you are suggesting will open up a can of worm and more crap for drivers to worry about. well unless they don’t care and let everyone for free.
The main thing you did not take into consideration is that People in Bermuda age very slowly. until they reach at less 25. even then its hard to tell age correctly. and it is even harder if the bus driver is not a local

the painless way is show me your pass or have on your uniform

Perhaps we can save some money by not having two plastic passes (summer and winter) printed every year for every school kid. I don’t know what this costs but I would expect it is a lot and was probably one of those deals made on a golf course back in the day. Let us just trust our drivers to determine who is school age and if a couple tourist kids get on free who really cares. The plastic is not environmentally sustainable anyway.
