I was thinking the same thing. Unless the traffic lights were malfunctioning and everyone had a green light, these types of collisions should not occur. On any given day I see people blatantly drive through red lights, not yellow, red!!! Guess they need to keep it moving in case the lights never turn green again. Either that or two minutes is just too long for them to wait for them to change again.
