Bermuda is in the top ten countries with the highest population density. The unemployment rate is still 7% while America's and UK's are around 4% which makes Bermuda unsustainable for a population influx. Thousand of Bermudian's have left because of the lack of job and growth opportunities and still, there are a massive 13 THOUSAND PLUS foreign workers in Bermuda. Those Bermudians who were pushed out of the country still have Bermudian status, Stephen. They still have first rights to Bermuda and should be enticed to come back before enticing more foreigners. More foreigners will just increase the number of remittances already in the millions that get sent out of the island yearly. This chart is not correctly done but anyone who can do the math can see that the younger generation is higher in population than the aging. The chart should have had the percentage of 0-17 so to accurately account for the percent that will be joining the workforce.

If business owners want a higher client base than they should get on the government about gouging everyone with taxes and they, in turn, should stop gouging their clients and offer goods and services at reasonable prices. In Bermuda our payroll taxes go one way straight to the government coffers while other countries offer tax returns to those who need them to make ends meet.

Falling resident population is one of the most critical issue facing Bermuda . No business or country can grow with a falling client base or population. Additionally, our population is aging which means less tax payers.
Bermuda must increase immigration and attract more foreigners to come and live and work in Bermuda.
If we do not, the consequences are massive for those that remain.
