If you pray for the hungry to be fed, the next step is to go out and feed the hungry. Many of those praying will also be those donating, those who were searching. Do not dismiss something just because you cannot see the tangible results. Prayer is difficult. Those who pray, tend also to do.

And exactly what are YOU doing to help others through these difficult times?

You do not speak for everyone, friend, therefore you don’t have the right to state that events such as a prayer vigil does not help anyone. It does, in fact, help many people and offer comfort to the families and community affected. People do have tangible needs, but we have spiritual needs as well, because we are made up of mind, body and spirit, and when tragic events happen, the spirit is also wounded and in need of comfort, not simply material things. Many people can testify to the healing power of prayer in their lives, including myself.

If you don’t wish to participate, you don’t have to, but please keep quiet otherwise, Bermuda and these families in particular do not need your type of negativity right now.

People who engage in this type of prayer actually think they are doing something to help others when they are in fact not.

Instead of actually trying to help others in some Earthy, tangible, and real way, they are pretending to help someone in a “spiritual” make believe way. They then feel like they did their part and are done. What happens next is in the hands of God. If things get better for their friend due to the hard work and efforts of others, they quickly claim credit for the success with claims that their prayers were answered. But if nothing improves or gets worse, they shrug their shoulders and declare that it must have been God’s will or that God has a “better” plan in mind.

How about you get of your collective arses and do something.
