I hope the Premier will take the time to find out how St. Kitts and Nevis are leaving Bermuda in the dust with regard to lower energy prices ($0.26kWh - one
of the lowest in the Caribbean - vs Bermuda's $0.42kWh) and higher penetration and investment in renewable energy when they have only 1/6th the GDP Bermuda has and have only 1/3 the GDP per capita Bermuda has.

The country is adding 15.4MW of renewable energy to their grid, enough to power all of Nevis. Another 70MW of renewable energy is planned, enough to power the entire Country. AND they are also contemplating building an additional 200MW - 600MW renewable energy which they plant to EXPORT to Puerto Rico via an undersea cable some 400 KM away! Who said energy can't be exported? Talk about a progressive Government!

Yet, our Nation, and more importantly our Government, are supporting a transition to more fossil fuels, for which future prices cannot be predicted. I respectfully request the Premier to become more aggressive in seeing his Country move forward with regard to renewable energy in the interest of his children and his children's children. It is our energy future! Without Government spearheading any initiative, the monopoly utility will continue to run over us.
