It continues to puzzle me that no one pushes for BTA to provide details of the ROI on the funding BTA provides to these vendors and other businesses they fund. Bottom line, BTA funding in a majority of these cases is an “income supplement” with no oversight. If Larry Burchall was still with us he would be able to calulate the ROI on true cost of each visitor taking into consideration all the concessions the government has given to airlines, hotels, cruise lines, etc. and overall cost of the BTA. How much are Bermuda taxpayer’s supplementing each air & cruise visitor???

Fort St. Catherine beach and Horseshoe Bay beach and Tobacco Bay have concessions, in fact I have to leave St Catherine beach out cause it is more than 90 percent contained by the hotel,and same way with Tobacco Bay, very limited use for the locals. I think Shelly Bay should have one or two concessions but tastefully placed so as to minimize their impact on the environment and the community’s access not displaced. We don’t want small business, grow to large. Further I believe, Bermuda College students under the watchful eye of experienced chefs should run the whole operation. Let,s give our young people purpose and opportunity, seems like we push them aside in favour of established businesses.

So are they going to cancel the rickety wooden walkway that’s like the dangerous one at Horseshoe Bay? I saw a tourist almost fall on rocks from off the walkway. Horrible design!
