Well…at least their making an effort.Remember …if we had endevoured to make drinking an Olympic sport rather than the pastime and social economic event that it is we could have licensed drinkers and drinking …and control offit through behavioral reenforcement.
By rewarding not driving when you drink or…not drinking while you drive…it is really the same thing ennit.
I am sure we would bring home the gold….our drinkers are not just drinker…they are professionals…artists …if you will…Leanardo da Vinci’s…Picasso Bassets….

The DUI number is interesting, probably speaks to greater emphasis in watching for drivers under the influence. Still much to do in eradicating the drink and drive culture here.

On collisions, interesting. Maybe people are more alert and aware (does the Drive for Change campaign get any credit here, hope so). Have to keep that trend moving in the same direction though, still a pretty high number. Police and govt can’t rest on their laurels.

Look at the total lawlessness you see 24 hours a day every day on the roads and compare it with the ratio of people who test pos for a high blood alcohol content after their fatal RTA that typically happens between 10pm and 4 am.
There’s no way in h*ll that everyone I see driving like lunatics are all hot and they are lucky enough to get away with it .
We have a culture here amongst way too many that they can do whatever they wish on the roads and to h*ll with anyone else .

Hmm would this suggest accidents are perhaps just due to bad driving and bad drivers rather than purely alcohol alone?

How accurate are these figures? I was involved in an accident last week where I was struck off my motorbike damaging it, me and the car who hit me, yet when we called the Police to come to the scene they refused to do so!

Enforcement is up, catching more people, making others think twice about drinking and driving, therefore few collisions.
