It was said there were a lack of taxis around during the nights of the 1st weekend of the Breathalyzer use. There presence will improve I would imagine from this weekend on.
Plus the public buses may get used more up to the last ones leaving Hamilton, St. George or Dockyard.

So you’re pulling people over asking them questions what is this North Korea? And how can you advertise you are gonna be at one location and then move to another location because it slowed down. And then there’s a bottle neck and you let traffic go through who’s to say you may have let a driver through who’s over the limit. SMH!

legal limit is 0.08, pretty sure everyone knows that. People are affected differently based on size, food intake etc. so you cant just say you can have 2 beers.

Instead of these hypocrites going to the root of the problem which is the legality of alcohol which is a drug. Because it is legal the people have been indoctrinated to accept it.

Accidents are not the only deaths caused by alcohol, people are also violent and caused someone’s death. If they really cared about public safety they would ban this poison.

Will the stats capture those who were deterred from drinking and driving by the checkpoints? Obviously not.

I know of pure people, including myself, who didn’t drink (even if it was just one) and drive specifically because of the checkpoint.

The way I see it…we have drivers killing other people now…there have been a few!!!

The biggest problem is they are not consistent. They do a speed trap on east broadway during rush hour traffic and harass all the mostly law abiding citezens and then you don’t see them anywhere for months. They do that ‘third laning’ thing at the south round-a-bout for a couple days and then you never see them again. They do these alcho things for a few days and then you will not see them doing that again for years, if ever. That’s why nothing changes.

BE CONSISTENT. Do it all the time, every day if you have to. Actually tackle the problem! Don’t just slap a band-aid on it.

Five people out of how many stopped, how long was the checkpoint held for? How many checkpoints were set up?

Would the police also release the stats to say how many drivers were tested and if every person stopped was tested. That way the 5 who allegedly failed could be put into perspective against the totals.
