Sounds like someone who’s been living under a rock , eh ? We’ve had exorbitant taxes on booze for decades . I think he needs to check a few prices at the local retailers and then look into the duty free shop at the airport on his next trip . The difference between duty free and local retail is astounding .

There is one – alcohol is heavily taxed through import duties. The sugar ‘tax’ is simply an introduction of new import duties for sugary items.

everybody knows they are checking , but everybody seems to think : they will not catch me

Every single weekend the checkpoints catch drunk drivers. It’s now the holiday season, when every other place ups the frequency of checkpoints. And the decision is made not to have any the coming weekend? What good reason could there possibly be for that decision?

Thanks to the Bermuda Police service for catching irresponsible drunk drivers!
The Police are saving lives and keeping us safe! Too bad there isn’t an alcohol tax- that would serve us in Bermuda far better than a sugar tax!
