Back in 80s my first beef pattie or was it a meat pie? was from mobile truck at John Smith’s Bay. I returned to visit JSB in October 2016 and noticed toilet paper, other discarded items under the rocks, old shoes, you get the picture. Times have changed on my beloved Bermuda. from NYC

If we are going to offer up these concessions there should be a clause that the operator be ultimately responsible for trash collection i.e. no litter and that they provide and maintain adequate trash cans. You are right about Clearwater that place is gross!

What needs to be put into the leasing contract of the concessions is that whoever wins the concessions is also responsible for keeping the area clean. Not just sticking a trash can outside that doesn’t regularly get emptied thinking that’s enough. If bars are held responsible for the actions of their customers so should restaurants be held responsible for any trash that their customers may leave thrown around (would help a lot of these establishments to go with renewables & biodegradables). Put in place stiff penalties if it is found that the area is not kept up & the trash is traceable back to their establishment.

What happened to the days when we had food trucks at many place. Simple & mobile. Horseshoe had one. Warwick Long Bay, Elbow, John Smiths all had food trucks.

On that, why isn’t Shelly Bay in the list? The protests were against a permanent structure in the current area of the demolished building, but they supported temporary refreshment services in the area closer to the big field.

Ummm because some people would like to have access to food drink and other amenities associated with going to the beach.
Let’s start with clean toilet utilities with running water and work our way through the others.

I can see it at Johns Smiths now:- OJ’s Koolaid stand and Snow Cones by Sista Lavernnne! Only problem is the only variety they’d offer would be Pee L Pee green.

Why must every public place need to have a concession stand creating noise and litter. Look at the dump at Clearwater Beach. Why spoil the natural beauty of these places just so someone can make a little money.
