Exactly. If it was proposed by the OBA you and your friends did everything and anything to shut down the debate.

We need Immigration reform, and the smart people in your party realize it. But the PEOPLE you refer to think that such reforms are actually to keep people out, not to bring people in.

This is the ironic dilemma that the PLP leadership has. How do they attract people here when they promised voters to keep people out? A tangled web, no?

If you are passionate then get a coalition of the willing and March on the Hill.. But first understand that immigration in this land has been abused for generations, and it’s documented. If it takes a year or three to meticulously review every aspect of it, I’m good for it..Any immigration reform should not be generous.. The immigration on this island is not immigration of exiled people or people seeking asylum or running from persecution, it had been a tool used (and I will repeat) abused to politically/not naturally shape this landscape… So I will wait patiently for my elected Gov’t to properly review it…rather than shove it down the throats of the populace for political reasons. Dec 02, 2016 comes to mind.

I will leave you with this… Not Everyone sitting with their hand out for some form of status deserves it.. Good citizen or not, if you cheated your way into this country via work permit favors/extentions, sham marriage, overstaying, submitting fraudulent documents, even if you have Children, I don’t believe you should be rewarded with any form of status (As they say, the chicken will come home to roost) Sure there are many deserving folks, no doubt, I would ask them to be patient, as I put MUCH more trust in this current Gov’t to come to a fair conclusion….Not a Generous conclusion, a fair one.

Can you name three areas of Bermudian life that has improved since the PLP has taking power?

it can’t be the cost of living as they have ensured that will increase substantially with all their tax and fee hikes.

It can’t be education as noted by the various issues that exist.

It definitely isn’t public transportation or track pick up.

It can’t be healthcare as the PLP just ensured that all private insurance premiums have jumped by at least 15% this year alone.

I just can’t see what you guys see. Please help me understand.

The funny part in all of this was that when the OBA was in power the PLP organized marches with people waving signs and protestors calling for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

They didn’t understand what that actually meant and either were told, or assumed, it was legal-speak for “Out with Foreigners”.

Now that the PLP are in Government those same marchers and protestors have been extremely quiet. I wonder why……..
