High standards compared to what?

The post office in Saint Marie?

The level of customer service compared to the courier companies is abysmal. They cannot even process packages arriving at the airport on the same day. Ask the Union why! The GPO is now closed in Saturdays. The costs are higher that FedEx, UPS or DHL and it takes days, if not weeks to get express packages. The Post Office should stick to mail and leave the transportation of packages to professional companies.

Not sure what this means, but the the Minister says “the public can be assured that their mail is secure from the time it is received by BPO to the time it is delivered to them”. Nothing to do with the weeks delays in being received by the customer. Its got nothing to do with how quickly or efficiently it is delivered, or not. What a joke, but another excuse for a boon doggle trip by an ex UBP leader, now in the PLP.

Only the second country globally to receive this award? I thought that was weird until I read “The award ceremony is due to take place during the Postal Operations Council Plenary Session to be held 17 October 2019 in Berne, Switzerland.”

Of course there will be a large delegation from Bermuda now going to Switzerland to stock up on their Toblerone.
