As I understand it the Government is looking to UNIFIED health care, not UNIVERSAL health care. There is a considerable difference.

Apparently Government also looking at ONE entity to bring in all the prescription drugs – that is create a monopoly.
Dental care – seemingly dentists will be given the opportunity to opt out of the system? This opens up a whole new can of worms. Listening to the dentists speak about the importance of oral health was very informative.
Chronic illness patients will be dealt with on a ‘one by one’ basis? How many people will be employed to examine these cases? How long will it take for Government to decide? Will there be an opportunity to appeal?
What Mental Health Care insurance is being implemented?
Is it correct that podiatry care for diabetic patients will not be included?
… and a lot of other concerns including who/what company(ies) will be tasked with investing those premiums to ensure sufficient return to cover the costs.
Wouldn’t it be easier to bring in the 10% of uninsured rather than dismantle an entire system for a very vague system that ‘should’, ‘could’ ‘will probably’ reduce costs (along with a long list of reduced benefits?
BTW where do GEHI subscribers fit in?

The implication being that the people who showed up at the park and the things that were said and the signatories of the petition were not part of a real, meaningful dialogue. So what is? Presumably it would be better if this conversation were held in private. Dialogues are better when the public are not there to make things complicated.

I have not met a Bermudian politician yet who had the slightest interest in real public consultation.

Fake news… If this was true then patients first would be ok with the healthcare reform. If govt is still nieve to over 1/3 of the voting population is against it. Then we need new politicians. I keep hearing people first campaign but of you don’t listen to the people how can your throne statement be true… Sick of the lies… #timefornewpoliticalparties
