I similarly was as a political commentator for 15 years, though in the age of twitter in blogs rather than video. Prior to being asked to take on the fintech role I’d never been accepted onto any committee or government board despite applying quite a number of times. I’m also not a PLP supporter (or an OBA supporter for that matter) and have always put Bermuda’s future above politics.

The housing issue the Premier mentions is something I wrote about for many years and did quite a bit of analysis on (https://www.21square.com/2018/02/thoughts-on-the-budget-eliminating-the-cathedral-limit-in-town/). My blog reflects the many years of thought put into our local economy and perhaps a motivation of why I was selected to sit on this committee.

I’m also 38 and a Bermudian tech innovator. It may not be too glamorous but enabling, on a couple days notice, hundreds of people to schedule and attend tests daily isn’t a small feat. Particularly with constant demand, without major hickups also plays a part in the successful launch of the southside lab.

Perhaps I’m not as young as these gentlemen would like but there’s at least one representative on the group under 40.
