Numbers of people shot to death by Police in the United States.

This man is of no concern to me, but what is of Great concern is so many things going on in Bermuda and not being address to the fullest capacity, there are many concerned about what we are seeing in the U.S at the moment with the uprising over the death of yet another black person, and this cruelty that the World has witness through the death of George Floyd is a constant reminder of what we in the Black community suffer on a daily basis, and the majority of the white counterparts can never identify with our true sufferings, even with their support of standing along side of us to fight injustice.

Bermuda needs to clean up it’s own backyard before taking on the plight of other jurisdictions, you don’t see any protest in other regions on behalf of Bermuda, when we are facing some of our darkest hours, and this doesn’t mean that we become insensitive to the plight of others, but I for one am sick and tired of seeing us so ready to take on the plights and causes for everywhere else and anyone else but our own.

WHERE are the E.F.Gordon’s and the Dr. Barbara Ball’s and the Dr. Eva Hodgson of this modern era, for Bermuda, you have a missing young woman who has not yet been found, who is feared to be dead, CHAVELLE DILLION BURGESS” SAY HER NAME. I don’t even know the young lady, but we see an uprising in the U.S. and we so easily forget our own plights, we have unsolved murders in our Country and Black on Black Violence out the roof inside of 21 square miles.

This week Sunday we will see another peaceful protest at the police barricade on Front Street, who is organizing it, I don’t have a clue, but I hope that there would be plaque cards there for the World to see, “WITH OUR LOCAL’S NAMES ON IT” Say their Names. There’s much injustice going on in Bermuda, “WHITE SUPREMACY IA ALIVE AND WELL IN BERMUDA AND NOT A DAMN THING P.L.P CAN DO ABOUT IT, Because they have to dance to the same tune, But we as a collective body can bring change, when we learn that we must be the change that we want to see.

First by stop all the hypocrisy among ourselves, deal with the Black on Black crimes, deal with the senseless killings, and learn to speak up about the things we do know, there are those who know what happen to Chavelle Dillion Burgess, there are those who know where she is dead or alive, there are those who have information of others who have been brutally murdered in our Country, but refused to come forward even anonymously, so who are the real criminals and evil doers among us,White Supremacy doesn’t control our stupidity and our ignorance to know that we ought to be our brothers keepers.

I could care less about this man coming to Bermuda from the U.S, this Gentleman wont be here forever, but we in Bermuda for most, this is the only home we got, and we need to deal with the mess that’s before our very faces, Many don’t like President Donald Trump, but likewise, he is only President for the terms that God allows. Then it’s on with the next President, I am truly glad to see people standing for what they believe and so I wont just bash this protest, but ask that they give balance, and take to the streets to deal with Bermuda’s issues first, and what we have faced for sometime, should not be an after thought.

So when you all decide to stand and protest even this Sunday, let’s look at the real issues of racism among us, continue with Dr. Eva Hodgson’s Legacy, of standing against “WHITE SUPREMACY AND ECONOMIC DISPARITY AMONG US”. That’s your real divide, an dwhen you get to the root of this, you can deal with the mess that we are presently in because of this, and we can start from there addressing the deep rooted hatred it has caused, even among ourselves.

George Floyd’s death is unfortunate, but we kill each other more in this country Bermuda, in ways that is mind boggling and still in 2020 we are still giving lip service to the real issues. After your protest, if nothing takes place in our legislatures and those within power, it will have all been in vain, real sacrifice comes when you are willing to lay down your own life for a cause, that gives others a life to live. we have joker’s on the front line, that will run at the first real sign of adversity, but we have militant soldiers, that know how to stand, even when they stand alone.

Sunday, we don’t need plaque cards saying “I CAN’T BREATHE” and using others slogans, WE NEED PLAQUE CARDS SAYING WHAT REPRESENT US FOR REAL.CALL IT BY NAME, WHITE SUPREMACY MUST GO. we had a so called Gay Parade last year, and I’m yet to see the Gay Community. In your face to say we are alive and well. Get real Bermuda.
