Interestingly , Australia (who are now entering their summer season) have reported that this past ‘flu season’ for them was one of the quietest on record. They , as I also suspected , are reasoning that it was all of the mask wearing , hand sanitizing and social distancing.
But like covid the flu has to be imported into the island as well and maybe we’ll also experience a quieter than usual flu season here for the same reasons.
Oddly , there wasn’t much fuss made here over how bad the 2019/2020 flu epidemic was compared to reporting in previous years.

Everybody should behave, when out, as if they are infected. This includes wearing masks, social distancing, hand washing/ sanitizer etc. Mask wearing helps to reduce the spread FROM the wearer.
In my opinion, the problem will continue until almost all have either had the virus or the vaccine. The vaccine is the lesser of the evils.

Barbados as of 13 DEC. population 287,000+, confirmed COVID cases 294, 17 active cases and 7.desths.
Government was quick to jump on their idea for inviting digital nomads to come here, but not quick on following guidelines for travelers which are stricter there.

It’s not just the government at fault for this spike in cases. We can give a big round of applauses to the residents who felt it necessary to wing off island for non essential travel and then were irresponsible when they cane back. I’ve seen retuning students that I know out and about who should be in quarantine. Rules are in place for a reason and the arrogance of people not following them has put us all at risk. What good are the yellow wristbands if someone is wearing long sleeves?

We need to protect ourselves and think on our own what we need to do to protect ourselves and not wait for the government to nanny us.

Well what happens now. Have we figured out that arriving passengers must do mandatory monitored quarantine..instead of being allowed to roam the island putting everyone in their paths at risk? Thats the first area that should’ve should be addressed. We are now subject to curfews and fines and shutdowns and community cluster spread duh. It doesn’t make sense.

In my opinion, Bermudians are Brits with the added privilege to be called Bermudian .
The fact that you are a Canadian living in Bermuda will not determine that you are last to receive your vaccine. if you should fall within the at risk category including that of health care .You will get yours at the same time every body in that category will .

This is the one time all residents will be equally assessed based on their exposure and vulnerability status.

Bah! Now it’s ok to rag on the PLP after the majority of y’all voted them back in. All they had to do was what the doctors and scientists told them to do anyway and then you thought “oh aren’t they doing a good job”.

Well, wait til the 2021/2022 budget comes out. You’ll really be ragging on them then. Then we’ll see whether the People will actually march.

Here is a idea……..LOCK DOWN! If we do not there will be over 1,000 cases before Christmas. Being too soft with Bermudian rules will not work. There is hope with a vaccine coming, but they do not even know how long the two shots will last. It could be like a yearly flu shot. Only time will tell.

The so called quarantine has been an abysmal failure from start. It is miss understood, mis named and not working > If the incubation period is 14 days so should the quarantine. I do not believe that many are following.as described. If you ick u a “traveller” you should also quarantine yes or no
