The benefits of the vaccine are that it reduces the risk of getting sick or dying from the disease to virtually zero. People who choose not to have the vaccine obviously have the right to do so, but they need to be aware that they, or some of them , will be the ones who will die or have lasting ill effects from Covid and not those vaccinated. The time to get vaccinated is before one gets sick and not after!

Until then, this is an experiment and you can’t blame people for not wanting to participate in it. It’s called CHOICE. Clinical Trials are due to be completed in 2023.

We cite the date for clarity, since the test/vaccine results are from different days. Our ‘dashboard’ chart is not exactly ideal and we are trying to figure out a better way to present a ‘one glance’ summary of key details like cases/vaccines etc!

I’d like to know why this update takes so much longer, when the vaccine centers have been given so much money lately. Isn’t it just a counter??
I’d also like to see stats on how many people are registered to be vaccinated, so we can see if the 70% goal is tangible.

“The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified a small cohort of approximately 5,800 cases of Covid-19 infection among more than 66 million Americans who have completed a full course of vaccination.

These so-called breakthrough cases, which are defined as positive Covid-19 test results received at least two weeks after patients receive their final vaccine dose, represent 0.008% of the fully vaccinated population.”

- Sure there are people not getting tested after two weeks who are positive, so this is biased. But those folks aren’t getting tested because they aren’t sick! So if every adult in Bermuda was fully vaccinated that would translate to 4-5 people getting sick. I think government needs to drive this message better – the vaccine is very very effective at preventing people from getting sick and people need to wake up and get vaxxed.

Seriously, some of these restrictions are pointless. Apparently I can go to a bank any day I want, and be out all day going to different banks all over the island, but not to go to the groceries except on designated days.
