Whaaat??! Do you hear yourself?! You honestly believe a drug, which has been approved for emergency use only, and is still in clinical trials until at least 2022, should be legislated to be injected into every soul over the age of 16? That’s sickening.
There are people on this planet who are allergic to the ingredients of this shot, but hey, the planet is overpopulated, so it’s ok to give them their lethal injection. There are also people on this planet who are still able to think for themselves (shocking, I know), who conduct their research, and form a conclusion based on all the information that’s available as to what’s best for them.
I hate to break it to you, but you are not God. You have no right or authority whatsoever to push for the legislation to force your fellow man to inject themselves with something they don’t want to. Everyone’s body is their own, and you’ve no right to dictate what goes into someone else’s body.
There are a lot of commenters both on here and RG vilifying people for not being vaccinated. In their next comment they’re screaming “get vaccinated. It’s for the greater good of the community”. Well, if the community includes the likes of you, you can forget it.

April 15 2021. Michael Osterholm, a public health researcher and director of the University of Minnesota’s Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy, said, “There is no way on God’s green earth that Texas is anywhere even close to herd immunity.”
Estimates of what it would take to reach herd immunity have edged up since the pandemic began, ranging from requiring immunity in 60% to more than 90% of the population to halt transmission.
No one is sure what the level should be, Osterholm said. “Anybody who will tell you exactly what the level of herd immunity is is also likely to want to sell you a bridge.”
A major factor in the relentless spread of the virus is the increasing proportion of cases caused by the coronavirus variant first identified in Britain and known as B.1.1.7, which is more contagious than the form of the virus that first emerged.
That variant “surely resets the meter” and makes herd immunity harder to achieve, Osterholm said. Additional variants could further complicate the forecast.

Well, the U.S. has, via legal arguments, decided you are incorrect. The decision was taken that it’s neither legal nor moral to require the military in the U.S. to take a vaccine that has only has “emergency use authorization” and has not been fully approved by the FDA.
Consequently, you appear to be making up your own “facts” in this case.
Typical drivel that I would expect out of somewhere like CNN sadly.

Hi, all the numbers are accurate, outside of some being approximate, like the population estimated at 64K. The vaccine stats can be confusing between the 1 dose, 2 dose and percent population aspects, so we try and present it in different ways, but each week confusion happens, so clearly we have not yet found a winning method so will keep trying! Maybe we should try the ‘less is more’ and just do total, perhaps we will do that next week. However, the officials have repeatedly cited 70% of the entire population, not eligible population, so that is why we use that percent.

Hi, the 70% figure the officials use is of total population. You seem pretty close with saying it means like 90% of population over 20, we don’t have that exact figure, but do have this previous related statement from the Govt: “ For Covid-19, scientists estimate the threshold for community immunity is 65% – 70% of the population. In Bermuda, this means something closer to 80% – 85% of the population that is eligible to be vaccinated because, as you know, the vaccines are not yet approved for youth under the age of 16 years. So, once you remove young people from the calculation, we need a much higher rate of vaccination among those that are left – namely, the people who are 16 years and over”

But we are not vaccinating the ages 18 and under.

Approximately 20% of of the population is under 20.

This means either we are aiming to vaccinate 90% of the adult population (Impossible) or we are closer to our goal than is being reported.

Premier Burt and Minister Wilson clearly feel they have this situation under control, and zero local infections will be the case by the end of June. Coincidentally when Bermuda will begin to host hundreds if not thousands of vacationers joining their cruise ships and then mingling with residents. You can’t expect them to quarantine, so all restrictions will need to be lifted.

Regrettably I doubt the virus thinks the same way. Bermuda should be prepared for a nasty reaction especially with so many non vaccinated residents.

From what I can see, Ursula longs for the good old days in Germany when people had to produce papers just to move about in their own hamlets and police authorization to travel outside of city limits.

Rumor has it that she is pushing adding extra pages in the vaccine passport for STD and HIV/AIDS tests. There is no provision for anything other than male or female on the passport.

She is not respected by her colleagues as evidenced by her recent visit to Turkey. Why would you support such a person?

As my body can attest, being vaccinated does not stop you from being infected and turning into a walking petri dish. Vaccination is not 100% effective against every variant.

Like it or not, we will get to two tier travel soon and there’s no reason why the same principle shouldn’t apply to any establishment of business.
