As usual I have difficulty grasping your comprehension of other peoples posts. One example is you posting sarcastic comments and then not recognizing when others do it and taking them per verbatim.
There was no condescension at all . Do you not believe that we are doing it to ourselves ? Do you think Duane would agree to the ‘daily routine’ that these overseas sailors go through to keep themselves and us safe ?

AC costs were public, but I’ve not seen how much “public purse” is being spent on Sail GP. Please provide the numbers since you apparently know.

Because the PLP told us that AC35 was a giveaway of millions of Bermuda dollars to billionaires from across the world and it was the worst thing for Bermuda.

What expense to the public purse? This is a nice ‘pick’ that Bermuda might not have had were it not for the success of AC35 & the welcoming they got from the Bermuda organisers.

As can be seen people are here now preparing for the event. Equipment has been shipped in. Business for the Bermuda shipper. Those people are staying in a hotel. Employment for Bermudians at a time when tourism is virtually dead. They eat. They need transport.

It all generates employment which is paid for in USDs, something Bermuda is sorely short of in balance of payments these days.

Why on earth are you so dead set against this event? Even if the pandemic wasn’t happening, you’d still be against it. As in the AC 35, there are Bermudian businesses making money from this. Why is that so hard to understand?

The reason so many things got cancelled was because Bermudians did it to themselves . Did you not notice the protocols that these guys are operating under ? You probably wouldn’t be able to endure them for 24 hours.
Do you continue to hate the AC because it was a success pulled off by that party you love to hate or was it because you weren’t invited ?

This is a Crying Shame, After everything that has been cancelled for Bermuda and Bermudians, The Bermuda Government is still letting this go ahead and with all the expense from the public purse that has gone into this, Please don’t tell me that the America’s Cup # 2 Village is not going to be fully utilized for its guest, we weren’t born yesterday and we didn’t come in the last shower of rain.
