For me, getting the vaccine was a no brainer. I am now extremely unlikely to get ill from the virus. It is possible that I may at some stage test +ve; but if I do I won’t spread it to others and as I said before I will not get ill or need hospital treatment.

It is almost criminal that we will be forced to ‘throw away’ thousands of doses of the vaccine when other countries have a huge need for them, and people are dying because they don’t have access to them. This is so sad, and even though I am of the mindset that it is a person’s choice whether to take it or not, I cant help but be angered also by this turn of events.

Ignorant and selfish. They have bought the lie that they have been sold for generations that they are special and Bermudas another world. It isn’t.

“To date, 53.9% of the population has been vaccinated [with 1 dose], and 47.7% of the population has been immunised [with 2 doses].

Where did these population numbers come from? My math is rusty but 53.9% + 47.7% = 101.6% Are children being counted in the “population?”

IF “79.9% of all residents over the age of 65 years have had at least one vaccination with 70.2% being fully immunised.” Then 100 – 70.2 = 28.8% are not fully immunised even though some have had one shot.

Minister Wilson is saying that unless 4500 people come forward to be vaccinated by June 9, thousands of doses of Pfizer vaccine will need to be destroyed. This is sickening. Millions worldwide need the vaccine and those thousands could help prevent Bermuda importing the virus. What is wrong with a large segment of Bermuda’s population? Time has come to open Bermuda up and let those who don’t want to be vaccinated to take their chances. I won’t grieve if they die. Terrible for those who want but can’t and will suffer because of the selfishness of so many.
