If I didn’t know better, I’d say this was an attempt to scare away investors, depress asset prices even more, and then step in to buy it up on the cheap. That includes the workers… Of course, the civil service will just carry on as usual pretending it’s all wonderful, taking more and more GNP.

The unions are an ‘enterprise’ and the rebel rouser has just given them legal teeth.

Expect worse service and higher costs.

“The Trade Union and Labour Relations [Consolidation] Act 2021 is undoubtedly a significant advancement for the rights of workers and significantly strengthens the rights of Unions in the workplace.” Minister of Labour Jason Hayward said.”

It is also a significant advancement for unions.

The PLP Government now says that if a worker opts out of a union he or she still has to pay dues to the union. Workers can only divert one-half of union dues to charity, the other half goes to the union no matter what the worker wants.
