However, I like many people, can attest to the fact that safekey event policing has been inconsistent at best. I’ve never once had anyone scan and verify. Most just ask to see the date, and other places don’t ask at all. I’ve stood in line and heard a woman behind me say that she sent a friend a copy of her certificate so she could get in. The only thing that prevented me from reporting her was that she said the only reason she did it was because her friend did have a certificate but had left her printed copy at home. However it made me think how easily people may be taking advantage of the weaknesses in the system or the policing of it.

The safe key is only as good if used and policed properly. If we’re going to ask some people to play by the rules and allow others not to and look the other way at the same time then What is the point and what are we wasting our time for. Let Darwin’s Law take care of things.
