Didn,t this government promise a reduction in health care costs.
I understand that because of the pandemic there have been extra costs but now the working people are being forced into funding new additional programs which will reduce their take home pay, no wonder people are cancelling there health policies. There will be less people contributing, so the costs will have to go up again.

You can’t stop jobs going to where it is cheaper to operate. Government itself has sent jobs overseas. Minister Burch (PLP) was openly gloating about expats leaving. Bermuda is not like a factory where jobs disappear when the factory shuts down, only to reappear when it reopens. In Bermuda jobs go with the person and will never return. Add in an aging population and unless immediate steps are taken to increase immigration Bermuda is finished.

When the PLP Government came to power in 1998 Bermuda had less than $500 million in current debt. Our current debt is now more than $3 billion. Our unfunded pension liability is also in the billions (but not reflected in the current debt).

You can blame the UBP all you like for approximately 16% or our current debt, but a certain former Premier who kept telling us that Bermuda is not like a business and does not need to balance its budget is responsible for the lion’s share of our current debt.

Seriously !! , why are you all acting so surprised? Doesnt Bermuda pride itself on ‘ being another world ‘ ?.. so why so shocked ? Living in another world diesnt mean reality wouldn’t catch up eventually ? Because you percieve something to be true doesnt make it so .

Bermuda’s outdated immigration policies, tourism practicies ( geared towards the rich ),highly inflated cost of living; non accountable, poor quality low integrity civil service, and inflated egos and sense of entilement….all recipes for a perfect storm of economic failure…This is not only the PLP fault…its a Cultural problem…Bermuda needs to come into the 21st century…the hay day is over…now is the time to wake up and start looking for solutions..
Stop crippling your people by rewarding mediocrity , instead of lowering the standard for employment , raise it and empower your people to meet it….train your population. It shouldnt be that the only qualification you need for a Job is a bermudian birth certificate….nepotism without ensuring accountability and quality is very dangerous….a lesson that Bermuda is,now learning the hard way…

The government (this one and the OBA and the UBP) should not have allowed businesses to send jobs overseas.

COVID has let companies see the jobs do not have to be done in an office here, they can be done for less elsewhere.

Sugar Tax= High Grocery Bills, Belco- $400, $500, $600/Month bills for Small 1 and 2 bedroom Apts! (Mostly these darn regulatory fees NOT energy consumption! , TCD now doubling the personal liceance fee due to requiring physicals ($200 a pop) Economy ruined by PLP Covid policies , Roads are not being paved the normal 14%/year, Busses not being replaced once their age is up leading to continuing heavy cancellations/driver shortages and now higher health insurance? No proper transparency. What is Next? Word on the street is more believable than government’s. Too much secrecy. Money has been emptying out for years, the stories abound, especially from the inside. Thanks a lot PLP! You are losing a lot of support. Horrific track record. ALL UNDER YOUR WATCH! Bye Bye!
A Government that continues to push its citizens under its thumb DOES NOT deserve to exist.

The population is too small to support the enormous PLP created debt, to support our bloated and underperforming civil service and too small to meet our pension and health obligations.
