Not me. In the 3 MONTHS before lockdown last year the recycling people came by my house TWICE. I gave up.

“Go into any grocery store & observe who & how few bring reusable bags.”

Most people I see bring their own bags. Personally, I am in favour of the British approach to bringing your own bags. Instead of giving a discount for bringing your own bags, charge 5¢ for each bag provided.

Well of course the vast majority are going to check the ‘yes’ box in support of getting rid of single use plastics. That is the easy part. No effort at all.

The fact is that Bermudians are extremely messy people who generate trash like our neighbours to the west. We grumble about once a week trash pickup because we generate so much trash & don’t want to deal with it. We have simple recycling but how many actually do it? Go into any grocery store & observe who & how few bring reusable bags.

Talking & clicking is cheap.

How many have considered the how & the cost of cutting the use of single use plastics? What are the alternates? It is all very well for the Government to make popular announcements but unless they have a plan to carry them out all they have done is make a noise.
