Time for an update on the economic situation now and in the near future. Unless and until the Southampton Princess reopens to cater to convention business, Bermuda’s hotel capacity cannot support an increase in tourism, and that includes airport arrivals. That impacts jobs, taxes, the guaranteed revenue payment for the airport and the economy generally. This alone would have a major positive impact, instead of pandering to fish processing and fixing roadside fences using borrowed money. Where is the Minister of Tourism, asleep at the wheel, along with the Minister of Finance? Mere cogs in the wheel I suppose while Bermuda sinks.
