Amazing how they have brainwashed the masses to accept this as positive. Selling Bermuda real estate one deal at a time, most likely to white expats. Imagine the outcry had the OBA even suggested this.

“The Minister said that in the eight months since the launch of the Economic Investment Certificate [EIC] on March 1st, 2021, the “total investment of EIC holders in Bermuda is over $39.5 million, which includes $14.3 injected into the economy from real estate purchases made this year.””

Excellent news! 36.2% of the money raised is by selling Bermuda to foreigners!

Investment in Bermuda gets you a residential certificate. 2.5 million in real estate makes you qualified. So folks buy a house and they qualify. That is a dream for folks who couldn’t purchase real estate. So great what is this really; the sale of 1 house a month at $2.5 million.

It should be investment in businesses that provide jobs not an expat buying a house!!! Stop passing this off as some expansion of the job market via foreign investment.

This is getting crazy. We’ve had the fluff Op Ed of Weeks earlier this week and now Hayward. Who’s turn next? Nothing substantive is being done, just rearranging the deck chairs. Demanding a financial investment in return for a large fee to obtain PRC is typical PLP dreamland. No wonder the money and brains are going elsewhere.
