Shouldn’t you have a town hall meeting before making a controversial decision? Nope lets make the decision then ram it down you throats saying that it was a great idea. OBA did the same things and look where it got them. Also Cutis Dickingson resigned because of it maybe its not a great decision. I wont waste my time attending a bogus meeting.

We are told that around 700 jobs will be created to allow Bermudians to benefit and provide for their families. If this is correct then why are there so few Bermudians working in the few hotels presently open?

The PLP derided the airport deal, even though the financial details were well publicized and independently vetted. Where are the financial details for the SP? What are the penalties if the hotel doesn’t open, or doesn’t employ 70% + Bermudians? Where is the Contract?

This will be a lot of song and dance with no real life numbers to back any of it up. Lip service galore. Just how important it is and how much they want to get Bermudians to work.

This was put together blindly and the PLP knows it.

The smartest of the bunch disagrees with the terms. Resigned over it. Has said so publicly (after the highest authority lied about it not being the reason). That should speak volumes.

This was their best chance at THE ONLY investment (in all sectors) they’ve been able to get to the table. The negotiating skills of the PLP are next to none. The had to take any terms that were given.

Someone needs to ask the simple question “Has anyone, in Gov and/or the BIU received any kickbacks during the negotiations of the SP Deal? and Could we see similar deals offered to other hotels on island?”

However, Carnival have removed sailings to Bermuda in May & June of next year, complaining about the TA and British Airways are reducing airlift all through the Summer.
