It’s all about control. The PLP were livid that the OBA created the BTA to prevent political meddling and corruption. Livid. No more GlobalHue, Playboy mansion trips and donations to fake charities in California.

It hired industry professionals, no-one with a political axe to grind. When the idiots regained power in 2017, it’s effectiveness was severely hampered, it’s charter weakened and political interference guaranteed. Yes men were hired, and those that “didn’t fit” were elbowed out.

It’s the PLP way, and another example of why Bermuda is circling the drain.

The TAF is simply the icing on the cake. Pricks.

There is a Minister of Tourism and the BTA headed by an MP. Why? It seems every year the BTA tries to rebrand Bermuda into another place it is not, numbers are down but they praise themselves for a job well done. Burt is more interested in promoting his entry level jobs in Fintech, a drop in the ocean compared to the number of jobs that can be created in tourism if there was less interference from the PLP. Start with listening to the stakeholders, hotels and cruise ships, and get rid of the needless and useless TAF and $40.
