Well there ya go, for one.

Then you have people applying it to corporations. They say things like ‘Get Woke, Go Broke’ to Disney for casting a black actress in the Little Mermaid remake (who I think would be amazing in the role btw), or to that pancake company for renaming their brand (which is silly virtue signalling at best).

This is the internet and nobody’s mind is going to be changed here, but for anyone uncertain, thinking that ‘woke’ means something other than its intended meaning is practically the same as believing that Bo Derek invented corn rows.

I don’t think he’s suggesting that you yourself are a conservative – moreso that the twisted definition of the word came from people aligned politically in that manner,… to the point where that’s the more frequent (and still incorrect) definition of the term.

Are there pseudo-woke people who act in a condescending manner? Sure. But that also applies to those who claim to be “anti-woke”. You can probably find examples of that on certain media channels.

This is similar to how the term ‘jive’ was turned into a negative thing.

Word originates in black (specifically, black American) community. Is then bastardized by others not from said community. Then the commonly-used definition becomes something it totally was not meant to be.
