I have been trying to do a passport renewal since April 5 and it’s been a complete horror show. I wish I was just waiting for processing.

I have been having trouble getting my mother’s passport renewed. This has been going on since April 5! They kept saying they needed more money or more information. I can’t even get to the point where they have the actual information so that the passport renewal can be processed! It’s been an absolute horror show.

Maybe there’s a trust issue everywhere. Maybe it’s a quality issue? We all know the Dept. of Imm is incompetent.

The UK Government assumed responsibility for printing all British passports, including BOTC and BDT passports. It is not just Bermuda that was targeted. All British Overseas Territories and British Dependent Territories were affected equally.

Put in my renewal November….still waiting. Was told it’s still in UK and they dont know why it wasn’t been sent back yet. Sigh

In 2016, the UK Government unilaterally removed Bermuda’s ability to print passports. As a result, passport applications are sent to Her Majesty’s Passport Office [HMPO] in the UK, which manages this process.

Why is that Jason…was there perhaps a trust issue?

By comparison, British passport renewal from online completion of the forms to having it in my hands….6 weeks.

My passport was submitted on January 28th which is 21 weeks ago. There was no additional paperwork needed. I was told at the time it would take 12 weeks at the most. Here I am still waiting with no explanation from immigration.

My Bermuda passport renewal was put in on January 28th. I still don’t have it back….plus there was no additional information needed. That’s 21 weeks ago??

I submitted a passport renewal for a family member on March 14, 2022. We still have not received the passport.

Without reading the whole thing, if my passport has expired and there is a death or emergency in a family………………………………
What the hell you suppose to do.
You won’t be afforded entry and or re-entry.
Sad stuff.
