Very carefully selected stats there. Just % change, not the absolute numbers. And going back exactly one year, so they are comparing 1Q22 to 1Q21, when the economy was in lockdown.
No one with any sense is fooled.
The economy is in an abysmal state.

We are even more screwed than I thought.

Moral on the island is the worst I’ve ever seen it. It’s depressing. There is no longer a light at the end of the tunnel.

The ERP is smoke and mirrors. What Bermuda needs is more f****g people.

Whether visitors or residents, it needs more boots on the ground spending money. The only part of the ERP that makes any sense is gaming because it at least addresses the one key point. Of course, predictably, nothing has happened because of the usual PLP/Civil Service ineptitude.

The rest is just shuffling the same money around. There’s a deckchair analogy I could use.

Which inflation are you talking about? The 9.1% inflation in the U.S. from where most of what we buy comes from or the additional 3% inflation that is locally generated?

1st Quarter ended March and we are now in August. So much for efficiency.
These are just another set of dubious numbers. Allowing for inflation? Not at the real rate. Comparing tourist arrivals to 2021 when Bermuda was still basically shut down. How about 2019, before Covid? Still announcing the arrival of a casino as part of an achievement? How is the Southampton P renovation getting on? Started yet for the 2023 completion? No wonder there is no mention of that.

wow sure hope they dont think we are doing great we sure as hell had to be better than the first Qtr of 2021 . Should be comparing to 1st Qtr of 2019 for a reality check. Note there was still a 2.3% increase in Government spending
I see Gaming Industry is on the ERP its only been 8 years in the making all election talk ..but hey thats all the plp do is work the vote
