Most of the cost of diesel fuel is tax, and the full gross cost of fuel including tax is included in this calculation as though the tax paid on fuel goes to someone else. But it doesn’t. It goes straight back to the government.

The “savings” need to be recalculated on a net basis, and only then would we start to understand what is being “saved”. Won’t happen though, because the LAST thing they want us to see are the real numbers.

Once you factor in the cost of the new 60-bus charging facility (which has not been disclosed), plus the cost of the current charging facilities, and the increasing real cost of electricity, we should be very sceptical of the claimed “cost reductions”.
