That fish don’t swim. Gas masks are standard equipment for the military and obviously for BPS where tear gas, smoke grenades, and pepper spray could be used at any time to break up a disturbance or any other situation that calls for using such irritants. The Regiment was recently practicing riot control. Helmets and shields will not stop a rioter from grabbing someone’s exposed long hair. It is a safety risk. If gas is used, the long hair will hold the particles. Guess what happens next when people take off their gas masks?

Yeah, no good reasons whatsoever.

before my time but wow sounds like something done in Jamaica in 60s i thought Bermuda would be to small for something like that because

Not everyone in the RBR (or any uniformed service) needs to be ready to wear a face mask or breathing apparatus or otherwise be ready for action.

Obviously, those who must be ready to wear a face mask or breathing apparatus must have clean shaven faces so the masks fit properly, but there is no good reason why everyone must be ready to wear a face mask or breathing apparatus. Not everyone will be appropriately trained.

This is all fine and dandy until someone is injured because their long hair catches on a piece of equipment, caught in a vehicle door, etc. A gas mask does not seal properly because of a beard and CS gas burns your eyes, makes you gag, puke, and a river of mucus flows out of your nostrils. Yes, Instagram moments.

Oh so no more tying unwilling consrcipts to a chair on the parade grounds and forcibly cutting off their locks in front of the whole camp, including the commander and officers who did nothing about it? Over glorified, extremely expensive boy/girl scout camp. Still discriminatory in that hair length regulation is dictated by sex and women can have longer hair. Individuals in an military force, funny.
